How to Talk to Your Barber
A good haircut starts before the clippers turn on. Knowing what to ask for is the difference between walking out confident and walking out hoping it grows back fast.
Before you go
Bring reference photos — front and side views. Know your desired length on top and sides in guard numbers or inches. Know the fade type you want: low, mid, high, skin, or taper.
Tip: Ask your barber for input
Say: “What do you think would work with my face shape?” Good barbers know faces. Letting them contribute usually gets a better result than dictating every detail.
